Class styles

  • We all start somewhere.

Beginners is ideal if you're new to yoga, recovering from an injury, or want to refine the foundations of your practice. We explore various yoga styles, providing you with a broader understanding of different practices and concepts to help you build confidence.

Throughout class, you will always be encouraged to modify the practice to suit your individual needs, adjusting for any injuries, limitations, or fluctuations in energy levels. This class will help you understand how to do so.

Our Beginner’s class offers a safe space to familiarize yourself with yoga, understand how it feels in your body, and discover which styles resonate most with you. Some students may feel ready to try different classes quickly, while others may prefer to stay with these foundational classes for many months, or even years!

You'll find all kinds of people in class, so please don't be shy – come as you are.

*Please inform your teacher of any specifics prior to class, so they can tailor their guidance for you.

  • Restorative Yoga is the antidote to the busyness of daily life, guiding your body and mind towards deep rest.

Embracing the power of stillness, this practice emphasizes minimal effort through long-held, deeply nourishing shapes. Supported by props, these postures gently create space in the body while deep mindful breathing shifts your nervous system from "fight and flight" into "rest and repair."

Rest & Restore is suitable for all levels, from beginner to experienced.

  • Yin Yoga brings a sparkle to your body and mind like no other yoga practice does.

This floor-based practice provides an opportunity to counteract the demands of modern life, allowing you to settle into stillness. Postures are held at our low-mid range of intensity for 3-5 minutes at a time, precisely targeting the subtler aspects of your being.

Physically, Yin Yoga focuses on the body's layer of fascia, aiming to relieve muscular tension, joint stiffness, back and shoulder aches, and pain from inflammatory conditions. Energetically, Yin Yoga can help to shift blocked energy, fostering a sense of balance and ease.

Yin Yoga is suitable for all levels, from beginner to experienced.

  • Mellow is our signature style, and an absolute treat for your body and mind.

This class combines flowing somatic movements to aid mobility, gentle breathwork, and longer, mindful holds in supported postures, all aimed at down-regulating your nervous system. Mellow is kept primarily low to the ground and designed to leave you feeling nurtured and refreshed.

Mellow is suitable for all levels, from beginner to experienced.

  • This class combines the complementary forces of Yin and Yang to create a balanced yoga experience.

The "Yang" component features a dynamic flow designed to build muscle strength and stamina. The "Yin" practice focuses on long-held stretches that target connective tissues and joints.

Expect to strike a harmonious balance of energetic movement and calming, meditative stillness.

Yin Yang is suitable for all levels, from beginner to experienced.

  • This classic yoga style combines effort and ease, offering a slower pace with detailed alignment instructions to foster a deep mind-body connection.

The class explores flowing movements alongside steady, strong postures held for several breaths, empowering you to build strength, mobility, and body awareness through each asana (posture).

All of our Hatha classes incorporate elements of yogic philosophy, pranayama (breathwork), mindfulness, and meditation.

Hatha is suitable for all / those with some yoga experience. A good place to learn more about alignment.

  • Vinyasa, a Sanskrit term meaning 'to place with purpose,' is a dynamic yoga practice designed to cultivate mindfulness.

This style focuses on connecting the rhythm of breath with movement, building momentum into a flowing sequence likened to a moving meditation. While there are fewer alignment cues in this class, allowing for creative expression, this dynamic practice can generate heat in the body and offer opportunities to challenge your skills and deepen your practice.

Each teacher brings their unique style to a Vinyasa class, ensuring a fresh experience every time. Sometimes you will work up a sweat, but you'll likely leave feeling energized and revitalized.

This class is most suited for those with some yoga experience, though beginners are always welcome. We provide modifications for various levels, however, some beginners may prefer to start with our slower-paced classes that offer more detailed instruction until they become familiar with the postures.

All our classes seamlessly integrate elements of yogic philosophy, pranayama (breathwork), mindfulness, and meditation.

Vinyasa is suitable for all / those with some yoga experience.
