After months meandering through the seemingly lifeless, yet strangely vibrant Thar Desert, to the high altitudes of the Himalayas, I felt the dry air and dusty streets begin to take their toll. I could sense myself craving something softer, greener, and more nourishing. So, I followed that instinct to the lush island that would soon capture my heart — Sri Lanka, where nature truly reigns as queen.
Much of my twenties were spent on the road, immersed in a journey of exploration, freedom, and self-discovery. But no matter where my path led, I kept circling back to the same question: what is life without connection?
As human beings, we are wired for connection — to belong, to love, to share, to feel seen. Yet so often, our modern world seems to pull us away from that essence, leading us into states of disconnection and distraction. As Brené Brown so beautifully reminds us, “Connection is why we are here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.”
This retreat is born from that truth. It’s an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover the many ways connection shows up in our lives — connection to self, to community, and to nature.
Over this week together on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, we’ll delve into the heart of yoga and meditation, share stories and laughter over vibrant local meals, and immerse ourselves in a culture renowned for its warmth, resilience, and generosity of spirit. From sunset practices, to ocean swims, and moments of stillness where the jungle meets our lakeside retreat, you’ll have the space to reconnect — with your body, your purpose, and the world around you.
We can’t wait to welcome you to this island paradise and share in the magic that awaits.
Warmly,
Katie & the Salt Yoga Crew x -
